DAMN IT GREENSBORO...WAKE UP!!!!!

We need to hire more police to rid our fine city of the growing problem of GANGS and the violence that they bring.

We need to pay more taxes to make the above happen.

I will gladly pay my fair share of tax increase to solve this GANG problem. Will you?

Do you believe it is not real? Are you hiding in your "safe" neighborhood believing that this happens only in those "bad" areas of town?

Do you believe that doing nothing will make GANGS go away? They are growing much quicker than our police force and have equal fire power. Don't you get it?

Raise the tax, hire the police and solve the damn problem!

Other ideas?

Here is a great place to start-----

You can rant on about paying more taxes but for me, I dont care to.

They city cut spending if they need more money.

If you want to feel safer, get a CWP and start carrying.

my one gun does not help against a 100.

We need to get the job done with the GPD in my opinion.

Where does the city need to cut spending?

thanks

Me, I agree that if it takes raising taxes then for God's sake do it and get more cops on the streets. But, and that is a big BUT, please make them honest cops. I am hoping a new city council will take care of the problem of getting the criminals out of the police department by appointing a new and ho9nest Police Chief and giving him full backing to do what is necissary. Bellamy has only sat back and let this thing escalate while he tippy toed around those who are really running the GPD. Of course, this has all been at Johnson orders. Oh dam! BB

Add 200 officers.

The first 100 to make up the current shortage. The second 100 to help with gang related violence.

Raise taxes, employ the talent, fix the problem. How much per household...not much...the benefit..priceless.

..oh...you want the city to cut the fat from their budget...good luck with that...in the mean time lets all go meet in eastern Greensboro and discuss the issues.

It will take a few years to train and hire the above. We are behind.

What is really dumb..we have folks running for office promising to not raise taxes....dumb..dumb..dumb.

I'm with you on this in principle...

1. If allotted the money to hire police how do we know they actually will use it to hire police?
2. If allotted the money to hire police to fight gangs how do we know they'll use it for police to fight gangs, and not for other things in the GPD?
3. Seems I have trust issues...

I'm thinking about oyster salad at the Chop House!

And you could invite "confused" - I've always wanted to meet him but he scares me :-)

Hi Joel,

The city makes us sign contracts from time to time...why can't we have them do the same?

....trust issues...sigh....I wish I could disagree..smile.
