Why do you blog?

I find myself struggling with the time needed to blog as compared to other hobbies/interests.

Are there stats out there as to how many try blogging to later drop out?

In no way am I trying to say that someone is right or wrong...just trying to understand from those that really enjoy hosting blog sites and replying what it is that they get from blogging?

So....why do you blog?

No, there no stats on turnover rates.

Why? It's an out. It's not for everyone, but it's a way to get out your thoughts into something that you can go back and look at. I look at it as a way to either talk about what you like/love or rant about "X", "Y", or "Z".

Depending on the type of topic, (such as my blog), you might have many readers but not many conversations.

Takes a long time to gain readership if that's your goal. But don't think they're not there. I blog for myself, so it doesn't matter to me whether or not I have readers. Readers are just a feel-good that someone likes what you have to say.

It's a creative outlet for me, as well as a way for me to let off a little steam on issues that no one else around me knows or cares about. It's funny, this blogging thing. In a way it relieves stress, and in a way it creates it. I used to keep a web site but the blog is more satisfying because of the interactivity. Guess I need the validation of others! But I enjoy the creative aspect more - I don't care for debates with people whose minds are already made up.

Thanks for your thoughts...very insightful and I easily find agreement with all...pretty cool.

For me I am still a little on the fence...my guess...might ease up on the posting and continue the reading. (making a great effort to skip the trolls and continuous debaters)

..hmmm...causes me to ask or broadcast another question...favorite blogsites?

If you have not replied and are of course reading...take a minute please.

Hm... I can't seem to find the "Enable Chicks" and "Enable Tax Breaks" checkboxes in my blog settings ... someone help!

I blog because it's fun to be part of the conversations around the blogosphere.
